Susan Yellin, Special Projects Co-Director, began working at Chhange in 2010. With over 25 years of consulting experience specializing in nonprofits, she has contributed to Chhange in a variety of ways. Early on, Susan served as Campaign Coordinator, spearheading Chhange’s successful $2 million Capital Campaign for its new facility and permanent exhibit. Susan has also co-authored many major grants awarded to Chhange, including The Big Read (National Endowment for the Arts), the NJ Council for the Humanities, the Claims Conference, as well as various corporate and private foundations.

Under the leadership of Chhange’s first Executive Director Dale Daniels, Susan is especially proud to have served as co-creator of Chhange’s permanent exhibit, Journeys Beyond Genocide: The Human Experience. Journeys Beyond Genocide was recognized for its curatorial approach and use of tablet technology as “Best Practices” at the Association of Holocaust Organizations Winter Seminar at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. In conjunction with the exhibit, Susan also co-designed and implemented a multi-session Docent Training program for dozens of Chhange volunteers. In addition, Chhange’s Building Bridges initiative, co-created by Susan and Dale Daniels, was awarded the Honey and Maurice Axelrod Award in partnership with the Rumson School District. Susan received her BSE and MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Economics. During her career, she has enjoyed serving as an adjunct faculty member at Pace University, as well as teaching at a local private school.

Chhange educates, inspires, and empowers individuals to stand up to injustice.
