JOIN CHHANGE AND THE BROOKDALE COMMUNITY THIS FALL

We will share a common intellectual experience as we read the novel When the Emperor Was Divine, by Julie Otsuka. The book follows one Japanese American family's experience when they were forced to live in an internment camp during World War II. Programs will be held throughout the semester, centered on the novel’s themes of racism, prejudice, and the dangers of stereotyping. READ MORE

Slavery in Our Own Backyard

Human Trafficking victims are women and men, teens, children and adults, American citizens and people born in other countries, all forced into modern day slavery.Join the LWV-ILO of Monmouth County to learn more about this horrible crime and the steps that can be taken to stop it.

Speaker: Dorchen Leidholdt, Sanctuary for Families. A human trafficking survivor has also been invited.
