Chhange and the Armenian community held a special reception for the opening of a three-part commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

The new exhibit is now open to the public.

  • John Woolf collection 100x140Later this year Chhange will launch the first section of a new state-of-the art interactive multimedia exhibit.

  • Armenian Exhibit 100x140The book Hundred-Year Legacy of Courage: Celebrating the Lives of Armenian Genocide Survivors in Our Community, commemorates the Armenian Genocide.

 

BenvenisteDr. Mathilde Benveniste was born in Salonika, Greece, to a family that has lived there since the Spanish expulsion at the end of the 15th century. Her parents were among the four percent of Salonika’s Jews who have survived the Holocaust.

Benveniste is an inventor of telecommunications technology, and a consultant on intellectual property. In recent years she has researched and documented her heritage and the history of the city’s Jewish Community, and has given public talks on the subject.
