Testimonial Dinner and Journal Tribute
Join Chhange on November 21, 2013, as we honor:
|Rabbi Sally Priesand||JoAnn & Stuart Abraham||Molly Cohen|
Rabbi Sally Priesand was ordained in 1972 at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, the first woman worldwide ordained rabbi by a theological seminary. She served as rabbi of Monmouth Reform Temple in Tinton Falls for twenty-five years and as a prominent community leader has held significant volunteer leadership roles with Interfaith Neighbors, Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County, Clergy Advisory Committee of our local Planned Parenthood, Jewish Federation of Monmouth County and Chhange Board of Directors.
For the past 45 years, JoAnn and Stuart Abraham have been pillars in our community, volunteering countless hours of service at Temple Beth Ahm of Aberdeen, supporting Sandy relief efforts in Union Beach, and as members of the executive board of Jewish Federation of Monmouth County. We salute JoAnn and Stu for their leadership and community-mindedness.
Molly Cohen has been selected as the first recipient of Chhange’s Hannah Senesh Social Action Award. Molly experienced several incidences of antisemitism in her middle school. Molly, her school principal, and Chhange together developed a program to effectively address intolerance in her school. At the age of 15, Molly is a role model for her peers, actively speaking up about her experiences.
We look forward to paying tribute to Rabbi Priesand, Dr. & Mrs. Abraham, and Ms. Cohen at our 19th Testimonial Dinner to be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge, New Jersey. In conjunction with the Dinner, Chhange will be publishing an Ad Tribute Journal in their honor. The Journal is Chhange’s major fund-raising project of the year. Funds raised through the journal are used to provide Holocaust/genocide/human rights programming to help combat hate, bullying and all forms of prejudice.
