How Can YOU Stand Up Against Hate?

Join Chhange for our 36th Annual Colloquium, featuring two individuals who stand up against hate every day. Chief Investigator David D'Amico has dedicated his life's work to bias crime training, reporting, and response. Today, he serves as the Chief Investigator for Internal Affairs at the Middlesex County Department of Corrections & Youth Services. Susan Bro is the mother of Heather Heyer, who was murdered during the white supremacy marches in Charlottesville, VA last summer. Ms. Bro has since founded the Heather Heyer Foundation, which provides scholarships to students pursuing careers in social justice roles.

Over 40 Breakout Sessions available!

After the Keynote Speakers, join local Holocaust and genocide survivors, community activists, engaging educators, and other workshop leaders to learn more about how to stand up against hate. Topics addressed in our workshops include racism, antisemitism, homophobia, the Civil Rights Movement, inclusiveness, the Holocaust, genocide and other tools you need to stand up against hate in your community.

How does art help us understand hate in the world today?

Everyone attending the Colloquium is invited to preview Chhange's 5th Annual Student Art Installation, which is also based on the theme "Stand Up Against Hate." Students from throughout New Jersey engage with hate both past and present, through connecting the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising to the modern world. Their art forms allow students to express their own views about standing up against hate through a unique medium. This exhibit will be open throughout summer 2018, so bring your friends and family back to enjoy the exhibit!

This colloquium is a must for students in grades 5-12, their family members, and anyone who wants to become a hero, leader, and role model.
