Ocean County Student Leadership Conference: Heroes and Rescuers

Pastor Chris Edmonds, son of Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds, will share his father’s experiences as a prisoner of war incarcerated in Hesse, Germany. When the Germans attempted to separate the Jewish prisoners of war from the rest of the Americans, MSgt. Edmonds refused. His actions saved the lives of over 200 Jewish soldiers. Pastor Edmonds, the Senior Pastor of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Tennessee, will read excerpts from his father’s wartime journals.
