At the age of 4, Yannick survived the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. The genocide claimed more than 900,000 lives in 100 days. Yannick and his mother survived, a feat he believes can only be described as a miracle, but sadly many members of their family were murdered.

Yannick will share the story of his family’s struggle to survive the 1994 Genocide Against Tutsi in Rwanda, witnessing and experiencing prejudice at its most extreme, and share his subsequent determination and efforts to make the world a better place.
