Center for Excellence awarded by the Jewish Foundation for the Righteous

Since 2000, the Center for Holocaust, Human Rights, & Genocide Education (Chhange) has been designated as a Center of Excellence by the Jewish Foundation for the Righteous (JFR). As a partner in the Center of Excellence program, Chhange is privileged to send two educators each year to study with Holocaust scholars at the JFR Summer Institute for Teachers. Teachers completing the Summer Institute are named Alfred Lerner Fellows, gain use of outstanding JFR educational materials and advanced study opportunities, and serve as educational resources to Chhange and the JFR.

2019 Champion Choice Award from Brookdale Community College’s Equal Opportunity Fund Program

The Center for Holocaust, Human Rights, & Genocide Education received the 2019 Champion Choice Award from Brookdale Community College’s Equal Opportunity Fund Program. Chhange was recognized for its commitment & collaboration with the EOF Rising Leaders Academy.

2018 Honey & Maurice Axelrod Award from the Anti-Defamation League of New Jersey, the New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education, & the Axelrod Family

The Center for Holocaust, Human Rights & Genocide Education and Forrestdale School in Rumson, NJ were co-recipients of the 2018 Honey & Maurice Axelrod Award from the Anti-Defamation League of NJ, the NJ Commission on Holocaust Education, & the Axelrod Family. This award is presented for Chhange’s innovative initiative Building Bridges, a year-long intensive program to reduce bias and hate speech and effect positive change in school culture. The partnership between Chhange and Forrestdale School was recognized for outstanding efforts in teaching the Holocaust and genocide in the state, as well as in the field of bias, bigotry and prejudice reduction.

2013 Education Award from the New Jersey Bias Crime Officers Association of New Jersey

The Center for Holocaust, Human Rights & Genocide Education received the 2013 Education Award from the New Jersey Bias Crimes Officers Association of N.J. in sincere appreciation for Chhange’s tireless effort and dedication in the field of bias intimidation.

2009 Spinnaker Award from the Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce

The Center for Holocaust, Human Rights & Genocide Education received the 2009 Spinnaker Award as the Non-Profit Organization of the Year from the Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce.
