Annual Yom HaShoah Commemoration Program 2021

Date: Thursday, April 8, 2021
Time: 10:00 am EDT
This event will take place on Facebook Live. No registration is required. You do not need a Facebook account to view the commemoration. Please go to Chhange's Facebook Live page at 10:00 am EDT on April 8th to watch the ceremony.

Dr. Debórah Dwork, Founding Director of the Center for the Study of the Holocaust, Genocide, and Crimes Against Humanity, The Graduate Center – CUNY, joins Chhange for a commemoration of Yom HaShoah.

Our keynote, Dr. Dwork, will speak about her new project, Saints and Liars, a book about Americans who traveled to Europe to aid and rescue people targeted by Germany and its allies. Who were these Americans who saw the possibility for action while everyone else saw none?

A virtual candle lighting ceremony will follow the keynote.

We invite Holocaust Survivors, their families, student groups, college students, and the public to attend this virtual commemorative program on Thursday, April 8 beginning at 10:00 a.m. EDT.

Admission is free.

This event is sponsored by:

B’nai Sholom Foundation/Congregation Torat El, Congregation B'nai Israel (Rumson), Congregation Ohev Shalom (Marlboro Jewish Center), Congregation Sons of Israel, the Jersey Shore Post of the Jewish War Veterans, the Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County, Temple Beth Ahm (Aberdeen)
